MISSION: 50 STATES, 50 LAWNS
In 2017, Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service (RMLCS), completed his first 50 States, 50 Lawns tour. Over the course of his tour, he mowed a lawn in every state to raise awareness for his organization that provides free lawn care service to the elderly, disabled, single parents and military veterans. This year, Rodney is setting out on the tour again with a focus on three key areas:
Teaching lawn mower safety to kids
Demonstrating the importance of community service
Encouraging kids to accept the 50-yard challenge
Kicking off his second tour in Milwaukee, Rodney will be spending one day in each state dedicating the majority of his time to mowing at least one lawn. In addition to mowing one lawn in each state, Rodney plans to visit schools and community organizations to talk to youths about lawn mower safety, community service and the 50-yard challenge. During his tour, Rodney also plans to meet with each of the 80+ youths who have already accepted the 50-yard challenge.
